Why? Believing in something because we are nothing

Almost all people including me are really nothing. And in order to become something we must identify with something that is 'SOMETHING", perhaps a celebrity, an athletic team, God. Which leads to the question, why do people identify with Trump, especially religious people. Why?Why?

Why? All the President's Men

I rewatched "All the Presidents Men" last night. The Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein uncover the details of the Watergate scandal that leads to President Richard Nixon's resignation. As I watched, I kept getting a very eerie feeling. What is happening today has happened before. The massive coverup of "Covert Affairs" that was triggered by the Watergate break-in involved the CIA, Justice Department and the FBI and actually threatened our free press. Our "free press" is being threatened today. The Mueller Investigation involves a massive cover-up. Will Trump be forced to resign? I watched Barney Frank on the Bill Maher show last week and he basically said that he didn't want Trump impeached, he wanted him defeated in the 2020 election. I agree, because a national defeat has more meaning. Much, much more meaning.
