I been trying to understand the appeal that Trump has to far right Christians. Up popped "graven image". Biblically -
You shall not make for yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them. ( Ex 20:2-5; cf. Deut 5:6-9)
In truth, do remember when Trump descended down from above on an escalator to announce his candidacy for the the U.S. Presidency? At that moment he became the "graven image". He revels in that image. His religious followers are serving him and he only serves himself. He is the "graven image" incarnate
