Why? Opinions

Ah opinions they exist everywhere. 'Just because you have the right to an opinion does does not mean you are right'(heaton).  Where do these opinions come from. The most respected opinions are from educated, experienced, trusted people.   But you should know that the Nazis had "educated","experienced " and "trusted" opinions. And of course the consensus is the Nazi opinion was, is wrong. But neo-nazis exist today.
Opinions can be the voice of power.  A voice for good or evil,  Opinions walk into the ballot box and collectively move an idea, a project, a city, a state, a country, a civilization.  Opinions sway dictatorships and democracy's.  The more important question is where do opinions come from.  A probably reasonable opinion is that old people as a group are wiser than young people. These older people have gained wisdom from more exposure to experience.  And the opinions of older, wiser people should be heard and valued.  So the first answer to the source of opinions is experiences gained through living.
A second answer to the source of opinions was seen as NBC news visited North Korea. It seems that at every gathering place for people a gaggle television screens were broadcasting propaganda.  The opinions of the North Koreans are formed by the government.
A third major source of opinions is education.  How and what history is taught in schools, the emphasis and accuracy sway and form opinions. Families educate their children from an early age. Family values and beliefs form for many, lifetime opinions.
Finally, last but not least is the media.  I long for the media of Edward R. Morrow and Walter Cronkite. Actual unbiased reporting with accuracy.  Today people tune in, log into their biased sources. Is there no answer to lack of objectivity in our media?  Somewhere in the media storm is Truth.  The Truth should always be on trial. It needs golden witnesses, in large numbers to testify. For the survival of this nation and perhaps the world we must have the "right opinions" in the right places, the "Power Places"
